WE ARE OPEN!
Be Seen. Be Safe. Be Shiny.
A Community Hub for Visibility and Creative Expression
Popping up at 114 Western Ave Avenue in Allston this this May and June!
This Spring, The Shiny Shop invites you to be seen, be safe, and be shiny through a series of free drop-in art making and repair workshops that promote bike/ped safety, creative expression, connection, and shared joy.
Born from a desire to bring more sparkle to the everyday, Alex Makes Art and her team have transformed a former coffee shop at 114 Western Ave in Allston into a creative community hub and joyful neighborhood hangout with interactive installations, hands-on making and mending, zine library, disco bike, and a robust roster of guest artists!
The Shiny Shop is a Harvard placemaking initiative designed to activate the public realm along Western Avenue and create physical and social connections between the Lower Allston neighborhood and new developments like the Enterprise Research Campus and Allstonway.
Come make something, meet your neighbors,
and leave a little brighter than you arrived.
