OPENING SOON

Be Seen. Be Safe. Be Shiny.

The project reimagines a former coffee shop as an immersive, public-facing studio designed to engage cyclists, pedestrians, and the surrounding community through creative expression and shared experiences.

The Shiny Shop stems from an idea sparked by local artist Clara Wainwright, whose desire to bring more sparkle—and visibility—to those commuting on two wheels, inspired the foundation of the project. Building on this vision, Alex Adamo brings her signature approach to intergenerational, hands-on artmaking into the space, creating an environment where making and meaning unfold in real time.

The Shiny Shop is part of a Harvard-sparked effort to activate Western Avenue and create connections between the heart of Lower Allston and the new Enterprise Research Campus and Allstonway in collaboration with Harvard University Planning & Design-Urban District Initiatives, Harvard University Housing and Real Estate, and Transportation Services.

Located along a highly active pedestrian and cycling corridor, The Shiny Shop will function as a pop-up commuter support hub in partnership with Transportation Services. In addition to its creative programming, visitors can access on-site guidance for route planning, learn about sustainable transportation benefits and initiatives, explore shared mobility discounts, and receive helmet fitting assistance.
